About ISAO eto - a legendary session musician plays.

 
 
After playing for Hawaiian music bands, “Blue Comets”, and “Tsusumi Hiroshi and All star wagon”, he started his life as a session musician of electric bass guitar in 1968.  He played for recordings of many hit tunes such as “Blue Light Yokohama(ブルー・ライト・ヨコハマ)” (sung by Ayumi Ishida), “Ningyouno Ie (人形の家) - a doll’s house” (Mieko Hirota), “Kassai (喝采) -   Applause” (Naomi Chiaki)  and so on.  It is said that his recording works for Japanese pop songs exceeded 5,000 tunes.  His unique playing style  by a thin metal pick with his own “ORENDER” electric bass guitar was even a standard of Japanese Kayokyoku(歌謡曲) or Pop songs in 1960s to 70s.  ISAO ETO continues to play with many musicians and vocalists, today.

  1. 1.“ORENDER” - This may remind you of “FENDER”.  The word means “This is mine” in Japanese.  Namely, “ORENDER” is the first Electric Bass guitar model made in Japan by TEISCO.   You may find the ORENDER tone in many Japanese pop songs in 1960s to 70s.

  2. 2.Currently, he plays 5 strings bass guitars made by Vestax.

  3. 3.He plays a double bass repaired by a skillful carpenter in Okutama, Tokyo, too.
